Democracy Journal Hosting Discussion with Student Defense on Rebuilding Enforcement in the Biden-Harris Administration
Democracy Journal is hosting an online symposium with Student Defense at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 17, on “Rebuilding Enforcement.” A panel of experts and veterans from previous administrations will lay out how the Biden-Harris Administration can take affirmative steps to hold companies accountable when they step outside the law.
Panelists will discuss strategies to reinvigorate enforcement at federal agencies including the Department of Education, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Internal Revenue Service, and more.
RSVP HERE.
The event is a continuation of a special Democracy Journal symposium, which explored how the past four years’ movement away from regulation and enforcement have taken a toll on families across the country, especially in communities of color. Polluters, predatory colleges, and countless other bad actors have been emboldened to operate outside the bounds of the law. The change in administration brings an opportunity—and an urgent need—for reinvigorated enforcement across federal agencies, to make a real difference for workers, consumers, and the environment.
